Bala sa Halip na Diplomasiya

Sa nakalipas na mga araw, nasaksihan natin kung paano ang naging takbo ng negosasyon sa pagitan ng mga kaanak ng mga pasehero ng lumubog na MV Princess of the Stars at ng Sulpicio Lines. Higit kumulang 800 ang pasehero ng nasabing passenger ship.

Ang mas nagpalala pa sa sitwasyon ay ang hindi paghahayag ng Sulpicio na mayroon palang kargang kemikal ang barko na napag-alamang "endosulfan", isang pesticide na ginagamit sa pinya, at hindi nararapat magkaroon ng interkasyon sa iba pang may buhay. Ang itinuturong sangkot dito ay ang kompanyang Del Monte. Sa gitna ng diskusyon, nagbatuhan lamang ng mga maanghang na komento ang magkabilang panig. Nagpalinisan muna ng pangalan, sa halip na unahin ang mga nangangambang pamilya. Mula sa punto pa lamang ng hindi pagbibigay-alam, pananahimik at paghaya na sa iba pa manggaling ang kontrobersiyang ito, nanatili ang katotohanang ito ay sagutin pa rin ng Sulpicio Lines bilang isang shipment company. Hindi man ideklera ng tama ang mga karga ng isang kompanya, tungkulin ng shipping line na ito na repasuhin ang mga dokumento at ang mismong kargamento upang masuri nang lubos ang kalidad ng mga cargo vessel. Sa kabila ng lahat, may sinusunod na alituntunin ang lahat ng barko sa Pilipinas, ang guidelines for shipment ang magsisilbing magna carta ng mga transportasyong panlayag upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng isang passenger ship at upang hindi makumpromiso ang buhay ng napakaraming tao dahil lamang sa kapabayaan.

Bloated o hindi na makilala ang mga katawang nagsilutangan sa nakalipas na magdamag at ang tanging pinaka-epektibong nakikita ng mga espesyalista ay DNA sampling.

Ang mga naghihintay na pamilya ng mga biktima ay pinangakuaan ng P200,000.00 na ayuda, at sa ngayon, mayroon nang inilatag na hakbang ang Sulpico kung paano makukubra ng mga pamilya ang nasabing financial support. Umaasang sana'y buhay pa ang kanilang mga mahal sa buhay. Ngunit, kasabay ng pagtagal ng proseso ng paghahanap, unti-unti na ring nawawalan ng pag-asa ang marami, umiiksi ang pisi at napupundi na sa pamamalakad ng Sulpicio. Pati ang mga miyembro ng news media ay hindi pinapapayagang pumasok sa loob ng tanggapan upang makasagap ng balita.

Sa programang Harapan, binigyang pansin ang lahat ng anggulo sa isyung ito, at sa napakaraming tanong, kaunti lamang ang sagot na natagpuan. Binigyang patotoo ng isang kaanak, ang kawalan ng kaayusan at pakikiharap ng Sulpicio sa mga pamilya ng mga pasehero. Bala sa halip na diplomasya ang ipinoporma ng mga gwardiya sa mga ito. Muli, mas kagyat ang pang-unawa para sa mga pamilya ngayon higit kanino man. Ang sistemang ito, hibang nga ba o lunod?

Sa ngayon, hindi pa man natatapos ang krisis sa transportasyong pandagat, ay panibagong grupo ng mga tao na naman ang nagiging biktima -- biktima ng kapabayaan at kawalang pantaong katarungan, at ito ay walang iba kundi ang mga pamilya ng mga tunay na biktima ng paglubog ng Princess of the Stars.

Kasabay ng paglubog ng barko ay ang pagkawasak ng napakaraming buhay at pagguho ng milyong pangarap ng karaniwang mamamayan.

Wiki says, an open-minded person is someone who is receptive to new ideas and information; that is of course, towards development.

If you happen to finally see the perfect blogging atmosphere for you – that is, an identified purpose, continuously learning to uncover the twists of social networking, learning to recognize the limits and ethics of blogging, it is now time to consider some tips to supplement your unmatched blogging style. These tips could add more flavor to your blog entries. Here’s a combined list of blogging tips (from my blogging practice and from ourblogtemplates). Let’s educate ourselves.

• First, learn to write a journal - Ideas do not only turn up when you're sitting in front of your screen. It comes in whenever it wants to. If not recorded, it'll be gone, never ever to come back. Writing any ideas you have on a journal keeps you organized. Journal also helps you process the many ideas you have into a few solid ones that can grow into valuable articles. A post is better written only with proper planning, brainstorming, and editing - which can systematically be done if you make writing a journal a habit.

• Brainstorm - Writing post isn't simply about typing whatever crosses your mind. A good writing has good ideas, substance, and structure. To achieve any good writing level requires you to do some initial planning and brainstorming.

• Be patient - Some ideas can grow into something complete easily, but not always. Whenever you have a writer's block or have some ideas that couldn't materialize into something meaningful, just be patient and write them in your journal. Small unfinished ideas can be combined into larger and more substantial ideas. However, the sources of ideas are present within anyone’s environment; the ability to shape them up now becomes a challenge. Sometimes being sensitive enough in everyday affairs can bring you an entire light of sources.

• Add value - The most common way of finding good topics to write about is by reading other blogs to see which topics create the most buzz. But rewriting a post without adding new perspectives or new thoughts simply means that it is valueless. So, be original, independent, and add something new. Observe the ethics. Do not plagiarize.

• Add personal experience - Adding your own experiences relevant to the topics does not only add uniqueness to your posts, but also get your readers more interested to learn from it because the value is real. Draw conclusions from your experiences and share them with your readers.

• Be unconventional - When writing on critical issues, there are two sides to it. The easy way is to go with the flow. But if you can build your arguments to go against the conventional thinking, it'll have a greater chance to strike more interest and be remembered.

• Expand old posts - Looking at some of your old posts (or even other bloggers' posts as well), you'll find that there are a few more popular ones than others. Look back into them and think about how you can broaden their scope or solidify them into something more substantial.

• Add more details - There are many posts that cover only the general information and the basics of some topics, scratching only their surfaces. Try to build on these topics by uncovering more details about them. Put effort to provide in-depth explanations and higher-level knowledge to your visitors.

• Grow your knowledge - What separates you from other bloggers writing on similar niche is/are your knowledge.

• Solve problems - People commenting on your blog doesn't just praise or critic your blog. Some present problems to you, hoping that you might be able to help them out. Choose the right problems to tackle on, work on them, and publish them as substantial article/s. As what I’ve learned, these solutions should be feasible – that is SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound)

• Act quickly - If you have new great ideas, or think they're great, you have two options: to write them on a journal or publish them right away. Original and new ideas have a good chance of pulling huge traffic. If you wait, others might write about them first. You'll then lose the only opportunity to be original and the chances of pulling any traffic. However, make sure to proofread before publishing your posts.

As you publish your post, you are giving a good picture for others to learn from you. It is not for intellectual competition, it’s all about sharing insights, views, opinions and thoughts. :)

“Before you click the button, are you sure

that your post makes sense?”

While your purpose answers that question, there are lots of ways to discover what fits you. It is like buying a shirt in a mountain of choices and at the end of the day, it is your decision what to purchase – so be a good one!:)

Your blog represents a part of you, that’s why you can never be successful to maintain your blog, if your real intention is not depicted on it – you will feel tired of feeding posts, you will be bored, you will get lost of your functions, perhaps misplaced. That’s why it is much appealing to project a blog which best fits your personality (the real you).

On the other hand, if you’re just doing it to show something off, think twice because you might be losing the other part of you, you might be trading off the most fitted genre that would robust your personality.

Now, if you have finally figured it out, you can mutually find blogging an easy way of sharing thoughts, furnishing them with your own creative style --- until it becomes a routine.

"Managing your thoughts through blogging

is a way of freeing yourself."

Are you blogging for a reason or just for the sake of blogging?
For fun or for good? First and foremost, the aim should be clear.
What is the purpose of your blog? Or what is your purpose as a blogger?

We have diverse answers to these questions. How people respond to your write-ups and how they perceive your thoughts, are somehow reflections of how you crafted your blog to appear before them and to your co-bloggers. And yes, the chosen genre for your blog attracts kinds of readers that would best represent their interests and would best satisfy their tastes. Here are some anticipated answers:

• To broadcast personal angst (although this is sometimes subject to denial)
• Blog as a vast space to write down everyday schedule fostering a celebrity mood
• A way of stitching words to create the digital way of diary-making
• To jive with the trend
• To educate – (i.e. extension of lecture for academes)
• To practice journalism and exercise writing ability (i.e. to inform, to feature, etc.)

Yes, you are the ruler of your blog. Along this supreme freedom comes commensurate task. Bloggers are called to be responsible enough to observe the limits of blogging, to exercise the ethics (recognizing sources, etc.) and to know boundaries that should be taken into consideration when telling sensitive issues.

“Who cares? It’s my blog!” - The reasons and other motives imposed by swift bloggers supersede the intention of blogging. Having said such, these are now matters of individual choice – that is taking the risks, taking the consequences. The excessive use of “it’s-my-blog” reason defeats the rationale of blogging, making it unfitted to continuously join the network community. For that, the stiff answer is, "Why blog?"

But whatever your purpose is, we have to settle to the solitary idea that blogging is a two-way process, we learn from each other, you learn from them, they learn from you -- that’s why it is called a social networking. When Animals Attack!

Newsweek is an American-based newsmagazine published in New York City. It is internationally distributed, communicating through four English language editions and 12 global editions written in the language of the circulation region therein. Newsweek delivers the latest news and commentaries to some of the most striking issues of the season. Aside from the serious ones, it also caters investigative journalism and other feature stories across the region.

From the TipSheet here are some tips when you experience the so-called "worst-case-scenarios".

• Alligator Attack: Gators are quick but only in short bursts. So run far and run fast. But if one clamps down on a limb jab its snout. Gators often open their mouth when hit there.

• Killer-bee Attack: Run through tall grass or weeds to disrupt their flight pattern. But don't dive into water. They'll track your air bubbles and sting when you resurface.

• Shark Attack: They prey on the weak and injured, so show your strength and fight back. Forgo the nose (it's a myth) and go for the eyes and gills.

• Bear Attack: They may outrun you, but because of their weight, bears can't go as high as people in trees. They also hate surprises, so wear bells when hiking.

• Nitong nakaraang araw, malaki ang ginampanan ng senadora sa paglaya ng broadcast journalist na si Ces Drilon. Sabi pa ni Ces, nagmistulang "life line" si Loren para sa kanya. Matatandaang naging aktibo na rin si Legarda sa mga nakalipas na pagdaraos ng "peace talks" at iba pang negosasyon sa Mindanao noong siya ay isang pang mamamahayag.

• Lumabas ang mga balita na ang handler nina Ces at ng kanyang news team ay siya ring kidnapper, at umano'y nakihati sa di umano'y ransom money.
  

• Signal No. 2 ang Metro Manila sa patuloy na paglakas ng Bagyong Frank na may international name na "Fengshen". Ang mata ng bagyo ay nasa Mindoro. Ngayon pa lamang, marami na ang kasong naitala --- tumutukoy sa bilang ng nasawi, nasugatan at nasirang pag-aari. (160 kph at may pagbugso o gustiness na 195 kph, tumutungo ng pahilagang kanluran sa bilis na 11 kph)

• Hindi maiwasang magkaroon ng hinuha na maaring inabuso sa pinakamalupit na paraan (gahasa) ang mamamahayag na si Ces Drilon, matapos ang halos isang linggong abduction sa kanyang news team sa Sulu. Sana hindi.
  

• Inilunsad ng Dos ang "Harapan" na eere sa Hunyo 23, sa pangunguna nina Ted Failon at Korina Sanchez. Ito ang sinasabing TV episode ng DZMM radio program na pinagtatambalan nila. Ang titulo ng programa ay hango sa tagumpay ng news and current affairs special na Harapan kung saan itinampok si Jun Lozada sa kasagsagan ng NBN-ZTE Deal.

• Isang bagong simbolo para sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas ang pormal na ipinakilala sa publiko sa Maynila. Ang bagong oblation ay kumikilala sa pagdiriwang ng sentinaryo ng Pamantasan. Ito ay matatagpuan sa bakuran ng Philippine General Hospital.
  

RG Cruz on the Role of Journalism

In an interview with journalist RG Cruz[1], he reiterated that a professional journalist has only one agendum ---that is to tell the truth, the whole truth. This is the case in any given situation. He gave light by explaining that each story has many sides to it to get the big picture -- therefore it is the journalist’s responsibility to report all sides and sniff out the sides which are not easily comprehensible or perceivable in as much as there are many sides to the same truth; that there are many ways to get to the truth. He further elaborated that journalists must make sure that they exhaust all possible ways at arriving at the truth. In the same grain -- one must also consider that journalists do not unduly hinder the law's search for the truth. He clarified that media must still respect police lines.

The issue of Peninsula Siege: However, he said that The Peninsula Siege was a unique case because there was no police line. He described the entire event as everyone’s ballgame. RG Cruz described it as, if the police authorities need to open fire and journalists are in the firing line --so be it. Police should just do their job. If they have to fire -- then they should fire. They can just warn the journalists to leave. But they cannot compel journalists to leave. They can bodily carry press people to leave. But they cannot arrest media for not leaving. Mere presence, he held is not obstruction of justice. Mere presence makes their job as hard as that of the police -- but it’s no different from them having to open fire at a bank that is being held up with people inside. He also said that journalists know the risks of their job. Coming into it --they know doing so is to approach a firing line because journalists go out of their way, flirt with danger to get a story. He stated that it is no different from reporters going into disaster areas or reporters covering the president being in the line of fire returning an assassin's bullet. Through the correspondence, he placed himself to be a proponent for responsible journalism.

“There are clear rules in the constitution in the limits of press freedom. Clear and present danger. National security. Those are only limits. Beyond that, press freedom is supreme.”

Journalist RG Cruz, said that media’s defined role for the society is to tell the truth and to find the truth---whatever it takes within the ambit of the constitution. He told that the charter is the shrine and limit of press freedom. It is the cornerstone of our democracy---a democracy that will only work with a free and responsible media.[2] Yes, journalists have the responsibility to report the unbiased, accurate information as it is received from reliable sources. It is their obligation to obtain all sides of a story, and to report on both the good and bad stuff. In that point, responsible journalism also requires a balance of the good and bad themes in doing broadcast reports.

Sino Nga Ba Ang Pinagsisilbihan?

Broadcast journalist Ces Drilon is still under the custody of confirmed ASG (Abu Sayyaf* Group) in Mindanao. Negotiations are going on between the said group and the local government to where Drilon and her news team were detained. Meanwhile, key government officials refused to lend a hand. It was said that Drilon was about to accomplish a story before the kidnapping transpired. Drilon is a broadcaster for ABS-CBN newscast Bandila, ANC Prime News and a senior reporter for both affiliated stations. The station's news department has already released its official statement reiterating the security of Drilon and her team, and their safe release. There were murmurs that ABS-CBN2 paid two million pesos as ransom for the freeing of a team's cameraman (who is then the only allowed member of the team to be released).

It can be remembered that Drilon's experience as a journalist has gone so far from being a veteran of coup d' etat/s until the November Peninsula siege where many other journalists were restrained while doing their jobs.

What really is the role of journalism?

• One of the most important counterbalances against the natural tendencies of government and other institutions to improper power exercise/ tyranny.
• To pass along society’s social heritage. Mass media expand people’s horizons, permitting them to experience things impossible for them to envision in a face-to-face society
• Political education.
• Serving as a public watchdog.
• Integrative function. Promoting the cohesion, solidarity, and degree of consensus necessary to sustain an integrated social system.
• Capability to hold governments responsible, mandating them to explain their actions and decisions, all of which affect the people they stand for. In a democratic society, people should know their entire alternative if they are to govern themselves, and the media is a vehicle for the dissemination of such relevant information.
  
• The assumption in some societies is that the press speaks for the people. The tripartite role of news media remains -- political, social and cultural.

While, it has the prime duty to enforce media ethics and sense of responsibility to increase public awareness on the right to information, develop investigative journalism, promote the free media and strengthen the bond between the media and the citizens to be able to address issues and concerns. Recent government actions have sent a chilling effect on the media and restrained threats to journalists. For that reason, there is a need to fortify and bolster independent media groups accordingly to amplify transparency and accountability in government and for both the public and private sectors.

Picket Line

Ilang beses ko ring sinindihan ang kandila. Ang apoy nito ay pilit na hinahapo ng hanging hamog at hanging mula sa pag-alpas ng mga behikulo, kahit pa ikulong ko ito gamit ang aking kamay. Palinga-linga. Nagmamatyag, kasabay ng napakaraming ring may hawak ng kandila sa hanay na iyon.

Sa bawat sigaw nila, nailalabas kaya nila ang kanilang tunay na nararamdaman?
Sa nangangalit na litid, sa pagbigkas ng chant, tunay kayang naipababatid nila ang hinaing ng publikong kanilang ipinaglalaban?

Mahaba haba na nga ang naging kasaysayan ng Pilipinas, lalo na sa pag-ukit ng mga samahang himagsikan, nagsusulong ng pag-aaklas at iba pang kauri nito. Bagaman hindi lahat at naging matagumpay sa adhikaing baguhin ang noo'y mapanupil na sistema, masasaksihan ang napakaraming matitibay na dibdib na naninindigan para sa laban ng mamamayan. Ngayon kaya, ganoon pa rin kaalab ang damdaming progresibo? Iisa pa rin kaya ang dugong naisalin sa mga bagong luwal na aktibista?

Ang magbigay-alam at ang pagsusulat ng istorya ng mga tao sa bangketa o sa lansangan ay isang paraan ng pakikisangkot sa lipunan. Mamayani man ang kaguluhan sa pagdating ng nakababahalang pwersa, ang piliing bagtasin ang pakikibaka nila ay hindi pagkiling sa kawalan, hindi "neutral". At, saksi tayo kung paano umiinog ang buhay natin bilang bahagi ng lipunang ito. Mailalarawan ang napakaraming hinaing sa nagkalat na kwento sa kahabaan ng lungsod, sa pagsuyod sa pusod ng urbanidad, sa paglubog sa kanayunan at sa minsang pagsama sa picket line -- these are the unheard voices of the people.

• Kumpirmadong pasok ang apat na RP sites natin sa World's New Seven Wonders of the World Top Ten. Nakalap ang mga boto mula sa world wide web, voting advocacies mula sa iba't ibang bansa at iba pang dugtungan.

• Nawawala ang mamamahayag na si Ces Drilon, kasama ang dalawang iba pang kabahagi ng kanyang news team sa Sulu. Ito pa lamang ang nakukuhang lead hanggang sa mga oras na ito.

• Nagdulot ng kalituhan ang pinaiiral na "Holiday Economics" ng Pangulong Arroyo. Sa sistemang ito, inililipat ang isang holiday kadalasan sa araw ng Biyernes at Lunes upang mapagdikit-dikit ang mga araw na walang pasok. Matatandaang inilipat ng Pangulo sa Hunyo 9 ang dapat sana'y Hunyo 12 na tunay na Araw ng Kalayaan.

• Hindi naman sumang-ayon ang National Artist for Literature B. Lumbera sa kalakarang ito, sapagkat nawawalan umano ng saysay ang kaluluwa ng kasarinlan ng Pilipinas. Dagdag pa niya, makikintil sa isip ng kabataan na ang araw ng kasarinlan/kalayaan ng Pilipinas ay maari na rin palang ilipat-lipat ng petsa katulad ng isang barrio fiesta.

• Sinasabing ang Araw ng Kalayaan ay siyang kaarawan ng Pilipinas.

• Tutol sa Holiday Economics ni PGMA ang National Historical Institute, ang kalayaan umano ay maihahalintulad sa Pasko ng mga Katoliko.
  
• Ayon sa batas, may kapangyarihan ang pangulo upang ilipat ang mga holiday/s sa diskresyong nais nito.

• May argumento ring, wala sa petsa ang paninindigan para sa bayan, at pagiging Pilipino.

Perfect Storm Economy

Nitong nakaraang linggo, nagpamudmod ng bilyong halagang salapi ang Pangulong Arroyo para sa mga mahihirap. Ang isyung ito ang nakikitang butas ngayon ng mga kritiko ng pangulo para sa paghahain ng panibagong impeachment case. Ayon sa dating National Treasurer, hindi angkop ang pagsasagawa ng mga ganitong hakbang lalo na't hindi naisasabatas ang mga ito. Sa halip, pigilin ang patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng mga basic commodities kabilang ang bigas, petrolyo at langis. Iginiit pa ng ibang paham sa larangan ng ekonomiya na subsidiya para sa mga pangunahing produkto at serbisyo ang kailangan.

Samantala, ibinasura naman ng gabinete ang panukala na bigyan ng emergency powers ang pangulo sa panahon ng kagipitan. Pagtitipid pa rin ang nakikitang solusyon ng pamahalaan sa pangdaigdigang krisis sa bigas, petrolyo, langis at enerhiya.

Patuloy pa rin ang pagsadsad ng piso laban sa dolyar. Mula sa average 41.00 nito sa nakalipas na 6 na buwan, bumalik na sa ~44.00 ang palitan.

Bagaman watak watak sa paninindigan ukol sa fare hikes, may pagbabadya pa ring maituturin sa sektor ng transportasyon na paralisahin ang Kamaynilaan sa mga susunod na linggo.

Ang komersyal na bigas ay nasa P 34 -35/ kilo. Nag-utos na na ang gobyerno na magpalabas ng 60 sako ng bigas para makontrol ang pagtaas ng mga komersyal na bigas.

Batid pa rin ng masang Pilipino ang mataas na bilihin sa merkado katulad ng baboy, baka at manok. Mula sa inihirit na .50 na dagdag sa pamasahe, isusulong ulit ng PISTON at iba pang transportation groups ang orihinal na dagdag P1 para sa pamasahe. Probisyonal o temporaryo lamang ang P7.50 to P8.00 fare hike.

Nababahala naman ang ilang ekonomista sapagkat ang mga senaryong ito ay mga pangitain ng patuloy na paghina ng pundasyon ng ekonomiya at maaring makapagbigay ng "perfect condition" para sa worst case scenario, o pinakamasamang estadong maaring mangyari sa Pilipinas, tinatawag itong "perfect storm economy".

100th: MEdia (news,broadcast,mass)

The privilege of giving publicity to news, and other matters of public interest, was held to arise out of the public's desire to know what is going on in their country. The Constitution reaffirms that speech, expression and press include every form of expression, whether oral, written, tape or disc recorded. News includes all events and items of information which are out of the ordinary everyday routine and which have that indefinable quality of information which arouses public attention.

The advantage of enlightening the public was not limited to the dissemination of news in the sense of current events. It is extended also to any form of broadcasting. The power is of particular relevance to journalists, who assess openness over secrecy in a democratic society.

Now, here's a cut (just a glimpse) of my video resume and voice demonstration submitted to ABS-CBN's dzMM Teleradyo 630. Based on their announcement, they were looking for: "Boses ng Balita, Boses ng Katotohanan". There were no requirements or limitations, so I decided to try this craft: to accomplish a script and to gather news stories, to edit TV Patrol's news beat via moviemaker, to write catchy news leads, to verify the news, to create the main headlines, to practice the attempt to deliver them with justice side by side with proper rhythm and finally, to shoot.

At nalalaman kong, hindi natatapos sa teknikal na aspeto ang broadcast journalism, ito ay higit pa sa layuning magbigay ng balita at impormasyon.
Matanggap man o hindi, karanasan pa lang, panalo na!:)
At Pilipinas, harapin na natin ang mga balita sa umagang ito...

Falsehoods

In an information-rich society, with all these social networks and ways of expressing thoughts, certain human errors exist. When publishing post/s, journals or any means of communication, we sometimes commit errors and for that matter, there is an ethical way of communicating falsehoods, necessary for keeping up the value of accuracy and of the Truth. Without this, feeds of fallacies and other incorrect publications may be provided to readers, and may then be transferred to other young minds -- nourishing them with wrong information and knowledge.

Erratum,(errata:plural) is widely used by publishers, writers, journalists and authors in order to address important points which were mistakenly identified -- wrong names, false description/s, wrong equations, graphs or solutions (for Math books), mistaken identities, wrong spelling, wrong event or lead, showbiz gossips, serious articles and other degrees of unrecognized deceptions which require clarifications if not corrections.

It is very important for publishers, writers, journalists and authors in general to furnish a copy of their respective errata (if there's any) to avoid the spread of false education. But then, beyond all of these things, proof reading and copyreading remain to be the effective means to keep away from erroneous items, unless you have bad intention/s to lead your readers in a wrong way. If that's the case, the issue of accountability/credibility may now assume its stand.

Patunguhan, Patutunguhan

Madalas, tinitingnan natin kung hanggang saan ang kaya nating gawin.

Minsan, alam na natin ang tatahaking landas pero sa huli, bigo pa rin tayong maapakan ang nais nating puntahan. Nakatuon tayo sa inaakala nati'y tiyak na direksyon.

Kung matapang ka naman, handa kang suuingin ang kawalang-sigurohan. Nakikipagtalo ka, sinusubok ang iyong kapalaran. Pero, minsan ni hindi mo man lang nakita ang liwanag sa dulo ng direksyong iyon -- kahit saglit lang. Hindi mo man lang nakita ang posibleng rikit ng patutunguhan.

Kaya, hindi rin nawawala ang mga desisyong pinipili na lamang ang direksyong paayon sa agos ng paligid. Ika nga, go with the flow. Hindi mo naman napapansin pero minsan kung kailan desidido ka na, tsaka mo lamang mararamdaman ang pagkapagod na ipagpatuloy pa ang mga gawaing ito. Nawawalan ng kahulugan ang lahat. Nababagot ka. Ang tingin mo, nawawalan na ng saysay, at tumatamlay na ang dugong palaban. Parang inililihis ka ng taksil na enerhiya tungo sa ibang dimensyon.

Hanggang sa naiba ang plano mo sa tunay na nangyari, naging puro drawing ang mga plano mo at naging ganap ang iyong tagumpay sa larangang hindi mo pinili.

Pinalad ba? Karapat-dapat ba? Sadya nga bang pinagpala?-- ang mga taong plakado na ang direksyon sa buhay kaya hindi mali ang kinaroroonan; ang mga taong plantsado na ang direksyon sa buhay?

Saan ka ba talaga pupunta? Saang direksyon ka ba talaga tatalima?
Sa napakaraming sagisag sa daraanan mo, mas makabubuting suriin ang sarili, tingnan ang mga nais pang pagyamanin, gamitin ang kakayahan upang maging produktibo. Magtalaga ng mga ispesipikong layunin at pagsumikapan ang mga ito. Ang sabi ng nakararami, haluhan mo ng dasal.

Naniniwala rin ako sa calling, sa divine intervention at sa purpose driven life. Bahagi nga siguro ng pag-unlad ang pagkalito sa tunay nating hangarin. Sabi naman ng ilan, stick to your goals, dahil minsan, kapag napangungunahan ng yabang at nakalimutan ng tanawin ang mga bakas na naiwan -- kung gaano kataas ang lipad ng pangarap mo ay siya ring taas ng paglagapak mo.

Kung nangangapa pa tayo sa dilim, umpisahan na nating hanapin ang liwanag.
Gusto mo ng liwanag, pero natatakot kang suungin ang dilim.

Kahit lahat ng ito ay maaring easier said than done, sabi ng isang Research professor, kailangang maging SMART. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound.

Transisyon

Ang kaarawan ang nagsisilbing sagisag ng pagsasara ng isa at pagbubukas naman ng panibagong yugto. Masayang isipin na nagkakaroon pa ng pagkakataon ang mga tao para sa isang "extension", isang panibagong kontrata upang masiliyang pang muli ang mundong ito -- sa batid nating hiram at temporaryong daigdig.

Hindi natatapos sa ika-17 yugto ang aking buhay, alam kong hindi pa kumpleto ang aking misyon, nagsisimula pa lamang ako.

Alam na alam ng mga tao kung ano ang buhay subalit ipinagsasawawalang bahala ang pagpapahalaga rito, kung hindi man, nakakalimutan. Saan man ako anurin ng aking mga pangarap o saan man ako dalhin ng aking mga paa, kabahagi na ng aking retablo ang pagpapahalaga sa aking buhay, ang pagpapahalaga sa aking sarili.

Ngayon higit kailanman, hindi materyal o kahit anong bagay ang makapagpapasaya sa tao.

Mas maraming pang dapat pasalamatan sa buhay na ito, wala pa diyan kayo at ang aking pamilya.

Maraming salamat at ako ngayon ay nasa ika-18 yugto na, ng aking buhay.
